Vega Sicilia is located in Ribera del Duero of Spain. It was created in 1864 and became the top winery of this country very soon. Vega Sicilia pays attention to traditional winemaking methods and controls the yield to produce the finest wines. Unico is the signature wine of it only produced in the good years. It is made from the oldest vines in Ribera del Duero including about 80% Tempranillo and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. It was a good vintage in 2011 which made the wine powerful with balance. 2011 Vega Sicilia Unico Gran Reserva got 98 points from James Suckling, and some wine critics gave it 96 points or more.
